随着高职英语教学改革的不断深入，英语教学的方式已经发生了巨大的变化，教师和学生都不再满足于传统课堂教学模式。自2006年起，我院英语教学在学院和系部领导的重视支持下，在教学内容、教学方法、教学模式等方面进行了改革，广大教师和学生都积极投入到丰富多彩的英语第二课堂活动中，每学期教师都尝试利用第二课堂活动与第一课堂教学相结合，为学生创设良好的英语学习环境，给学生提供语言实践和交际的机会，整体收效甚好。现就如何开展英语第二课堂活动，有哪些具体活动形式以及如何与课堂教学相结合展开探讨。

改革的总体设想

（一）指导思想

推进高职英语教学改革 目前，高职英语教学改革正在不断深化，强调以学生为中心，在保证英语第一课堂教学质量的同时，将第一课堂教学与第二课堂活动有机结合起来，充分发挥第二课堂开放、灵活和广泛的优势特点，调动学生在学习英语过程中的主动性和创造性，以拓宽其知识视野，全面提高学生的综合素质。

弥补课堂教学的不足 课堂教学的局限性主要有两个方面：一是教学时间有限，听说读写能力难以得到均衡的发展；二是教学内容有限，学习者语言知识的输入量不足，难以体现英语教学的人文性和教育性特点，不利于实施个性化教学，学生不能发挥其个性和特长。而所有这些局限都可以在第二课堂得到一定程度的弥补。第二课堂强调学生的自主学习，能满足学生的个性化发展需要，向学生提供比传统课堂教学丰富得多的学习手段和内容。它是以学生为主体的教学形式，学生是活动的中心，学生可以根据自己的知识取向和兴趣爱好去选择参加不同的活动，而教师则可以因材施教，设计不同形式、不同难度的内容来满足不同学生的需要。

（二）改革的重点

（1）教学内容遵循以“实用为主、够用为度”的教学指导方针，突出语言的实际应用，强调听说训练，加强实践环节，培养学生实际运用英语的能力。（2）在教学中，强调以应用能力为主线的思想，改变以灌输知识为主的教学方式；坚持以学生为中心，教师起组织和引导的作用，避免教师以灌输知识为主，片面强调知识传承的教学方式。

改革的实施过程

（一）学生的活动实践

外语教研室每年如期在全院举行全国大学生英语竞赛初赛、全国“外研社杯”英语演讲比赛初赛、广西大学生“英语戏剧节”大赛初赛及广西英语翻译大赛初赛，学院英语角等活动。

学生实践活动的具体安排 （1）每年4～5月，组织学生参加全国大学生英语竞赛初赛，激发广大学生学习英语的兴趣，促进学生英语水平的全面提高，促进英语课堂教学质量提高。（2）每年5月，组织学生参加广西高校大学生“英语戏剧节”大赛，给学生提供展现能力的平台，增添英语学习的趣味性，培养学生团队合作的精神。（3）每年10～11月，组织学生参加全国“外研社杯”英语演讲比赛，通过第二课堂活动的形式，给学生提供展示自我、超越自我的舞台。（4）每年12月，组织学生参加广西英语翻译大赛，提高学生学习英语的兴趣，培养学生读英语，说英语，记忆英语词汇及词组、句子的良好习惯，促进英语课堂教学的改革。（5）2009年5月，我们组织了学院第四届大型英语角活动，邀请了附近十几所院校一百多名英语爱好者参加。活动以英语自由交流为主，并安排有英语戏剧“xxx南飞”表演以及英语歌曲独唱、猜谜等，晚会获得圆满成功。（6）2009年10月，为迎接我院30周年校庆，秉承我院学风建设的精神，积极开设第二课堂活动，加强学院英语学习的氛围，增进英语学习趣味性，给学生创造竞技的舞台，比如组织一年级各系各班学生参加英语黑板报比赛。

具体活动方案 如大学生英语竞赛：由外语教研室主任组织，写活动策划方案，布置本届英语竞赛初赛的具体工作，安排活动实施过程，学院英语协会协助做好宣传工作。为了使参赛学生在全国大学生英语竞赛初赛中发挥出水平，了解和熟悉英语竞赛题型，取得优异成绩，每届竞赛都派教师对参赛学生进行辅导。赛场安排、初赛评卷工作以及决赛等一律按照全国竞赛组委会统一要求进行。又如广西大学生英语戏剧节：每年4月份开始，由教研室主任安排指导工作，负责人写活动策划方案，并安排我院参赛队伍展开预赛，最终选出最优秀的一组作为我院代表队。安排指导教师对该队进行辅导。辅导时间大概为两周，每天2小时。如若晋级，5月再进行深入的指导提高并派带队教师带领选手参加区级决赛。最后，根据学生参赛情况，写活动总结汇报。

（二）教师课堂实践

近年来，我院已经开展的英语第二课堂活动主要有：全国大学生英语竞赛、“外研社杯”英语演讲比赛、广西“英语戏剧节”大赛、广西英语翻译大赛、学院英语角活动、学院英语手抄报评比等，内容丰富多彩，形式多样，能够多方面地为学生提供展示特长的舞台。在各项英语活动中，学生尽情发挥，参加全区各种英语大赛硕果累累。那么，如何将学生参加活动的积极性、丰富的创造力转化为英语学习的动力，如何将第二课堂活动与课堂教学相融合，促进英语课堂教学改革？对此，我们在课堂教学中进行了一些尝试。例如，电力916班任课教师尝试以英语演讲比赛的形式进行课文教学，以培养学生的学习兴趣，调动学生学习xxx，提高学生运用英语的综合能力。具体做法为：简单理解课文后，给学生时间自己准备，然后每个学生就单元相关的话题展开演讲，由教师和其他4名学生评分。在演讲过程中，有些学生能较连贯进行，表达过程中词汇也较丰富，虽存在一些错误，但表达基本清晰流畅；而有些学生则频繁出现较长时间的停顿，存在较多的语言错误，只能用零星的词汇作简单回答，无法表达和传递信息；课文演讲结束后评出一、二、三等奖和鼓励奖，最后教师总结。实践调查证明，98%的学生认为以这种方式来学习课文既不烦闷，也能锻炼英语表达能力。其他教师则组织班级学生开展期末戏剧表演公开课，以英语戏剧表演方式、英语辩论赛等方法进行教学。显而易见，以第二课堂活动辅助第一课堂教学的形式得到了学生的认可，调动了学生学习英语的xxx和动力，该教学模式推动了英语课堂教学的进一步改革，带动了英语课程的建设。目前，我院在英语教学上已形成每学期都有教师进行以第二课堂活动为主题的尝试课，整体收效甚好。

（三）学生个人成绩对比分析

采用两种课堂教学形式相交融的教学体系，学生的英语学习成绩得到了普遍提升，学习兴趣也更为浓厚。这可以通过学生前后两个学期的学习成绩对比和竞赛成绩来印证。对一些学生的调研结果如下：电力910班的一名学生，第一学期成绩75分，第二学期成绩85分，获得2009年全区“英语演讲大赛”二等奖，2010年全区“英语戏剧节”三等奖，2011年全区高职院校技能大赛“英语口语大赛”二等奖。电力806班的一名学生，第一学期成绩89分，第二学期成绩98分，获得2010年英语竞赛广西赛区一等奖。电力908班的一名学生，第一学期成绩90分，第二学期成绩94分，获得2009年全区“英语演讲大赛”优胜奖，2010年全区“英语戏剧节”比赛三等奖。管理803班的一名学生，第一学期成绩81分，第二学期成绩90分，获得2008年全区“英语演讲大赛”三等奖。

（四）学生学业评价方式改变

在教学上注重第一课堂教学与第二课堂活动的交融，在学业评价方式上也必须做出相应的改变，即应将第二课堂活动取得的实效化为分值或学分加入到第一课堂中考量。经过多方调研及问卷调查发现，大部分教师和学生支持以下考量方式：在学生总成绩中，第一课堂的期末考试分值占50%，第二课堂的分值占35%，平时成绩占15%。这样的评价方式，既可以保证高职学生的英语考试及格率，确保不挫败学生的学习积极性，避免学生产生学业太难无法及格的消极想法，又可以通过分值的设定引起学生的重视，保证教师教学计划有序进行。具体评价体系如表1所示。

取得的成果

英语第二课堂活动调动了学生学习英语的xxx，培养和挖掘了学生的创新能力，使学生的英语实际应用能力得到了全面提高。经过近几年的研究与实践，主要取得了以下成果。

（一）理论成果

一方面，通过对高职英语教学和第二课堂活动实践进行探索，发现第二课堂活动的多元化开展，能促进英语教学改革，是对英语教学的有利补充。另一方面，通过总结本校开展多年的英语第二课堂活动的经验，提出了架构高职英语第一课堂教学与第二课堂活动相交融的教学体系的必要性及可行性；还提出了第一课堂与第二课堂相交融的教学体系的评价方式。

（二）实践成果

通过英语教学课程体系的重新构建、教师课堂实践、学生课外活动实践、学生个人成绩对比分析以及学生学业评价方式改变等方面尝试了第二课堂活动对英语教学改革的促进作用。目前，英语第二课堂活动的开展与实际教学的有效结合，仍旧是我国高职英语教学中的热点问题，因此这项实践研究具有普遍的指导意义。

深入改革的工作设想

（一）合理调整课程体系设置

在保持课程体系设置相对稳定，完成基础教学任务的前提下，结合开展英语第二课堂活动，探索英语教学的新途径。加强外语教研室的建设，引进高学历的外语人才，给教师提供外出培训进修的机会，全面提高教师的业务能力。

（二）加强校际交流

加强与其他院校及广西高校英语专业教学研究会的联系，吸取先进经验，尝试与外校联合开展第二课堂活动，如英语角、演讲比赛等，全方位、多层次、多渠道地创造英语环境和氛围，促进学生英语听、说、读、写、译等各方面能力全面提高。

总之，我们要积极地将英语教学渗透到学生的日常生活中，使学生随时随地学习英语，营造全方位、多渠道说英语、学英语、用英语的环境和氛围。英语第二课堂教育是一块尚未得到深入开发的沃土，它所涉及的科目及理论远非第一课堂所能涵盖。在英语课程教学改革和探索过程中，应充分认识这块语言习得不可缺少的阵地，尝试组织更多教师和学生参与，在调整活动设计等方面进行改革，这将是一项十分有益的工作。

大家好！

我是外语协会会长xxx，首先，我代表我们社团诚挚地感谢院团委老师、各兄弟社团及广大同学对我们外语协会工作的关心和支持。

年度在紧张匆忙中度过，回首一年来的工作，繁杂却充实，忙碌而不失条理。本年度我管理外语协会的工作。在院团委老师的领导下，在全体团干xxx支持和帮助下，各项工作得以顺利进行，并取得了一些成绩。现就一年来我所做的工作，向上级领导和全体团干汇报，有不妥之处敬请斧正。

一、主要活动

1、年04月份我们外语协会为山东省驻济高校英文朗诵比赛选取选手。

2、年05月份我们外语协会承办了山东省科技外语大赛初赛（协和赛区）。

这两次的比赛主要是考选手的英文水平，我们从中得到了一定的经验，但是也有不足之处，我们了解了我们学校学生英语的整体水平，同时也了解到学生对英语的热爱程度。

但是，我们通过这两次的比赛发现我们许多的不足之处，主要有以下几点：

（1）、与选手没有好的沟通，驻济高校英文朗诵比赛的时候，没有和选手沟通好而致使好多工作都很仓促，像、没有及时与选手沟通，比赛时间与学院的补考时间有冲突，最终致使没有去铁道职业技术学院参加比赛。

（2）、前期工作没有准备好，在山东省科技外语大赛的时候，由于时间没有安排好，所以中间的一个节目（乐器演奏）没能上场，原因是当天为国家哀悼日，停止一切娱乐性的活动，并且，已经做好的条幅也没能够挂上。

总结这两次活动，我得到了一系列的教训。

3、9月份的xxx工作

开源结流,做好招新工作,保证社团干部的质量。把好招新工作的关，规范招新工作，以“公平公正公开”的原则，精心选拔一批素质过关作风过硬的优秀人才，为将来社团的传承和发展提供良好的条件。

从xxx工作中我体会到了90后的个性，10级学生的雨中不同之处，他们有新的思想、新的理念、个性创新的想法。好多都是我们这些09级的学长、学姐们需要去学习的，比如，他们的大胆，他们的开放等。

4、特色品牌活动“第四届英文歌大赛”

“第四届英文歌大赛”在年11月份成功落下帷幕，英文歌朗诵比赛，使我清楚的认识到了举办特色活动，对于一个社团的重要性。在英文歌大赛中，我们社团成员相互合作，共同创新。但是，也有很多不足之处。

（1）、没有给人员具体分工，致使人员分工不明确，好多会员都不知道应该做什么。

（2）、虽说已经做了资金预算，但是，没有对所购物品进行统计，而致使购买物品时复杂而没有条理性。多走了好多弯路。

5、12月份周年庆典+内部联欢

通过开社团内部例会的形式争取大家的意见是举办对外的周年庆典还是举办自己社团的内部联欢，征得大家的意见，大家一致要求举办内部联欢形式的周年庆典。

通过此次周年庆典使我发现社团内好多有才华、有管理、组织能力的人才。这也就使后来通过竞争选取，而选取的很多社团的骨干力量。发现10级的学生有创新的想法、个性的做法等等。

6、常规活动“英语角”的改版

今年把我们的常规活动英语角进行了改版，使枯燥的、无味的、令很多人头疼的英语，改的活灵活现。

（1）、我们通过比赛的形式进行英语培训，类似增强广大会员的斗志。

（2）、我们通过颁发小礼品的形式来刺激广大会员的学习心理。

使广大会员愿意学英语、乐意学英语、喜欢学英语。

改版后的“英语角”虽说是两周一次，但是，比起以前一周一次的“英语角”来说，我们准备的更加充分了。广大会员也更加喜欢学习英语了。

二、个人的社会实践及体会心德

1、在暑假期间面试进入了学校的新生接待团，在接待团期间不但锻炼了我的管理能力，更加锻炼了我的交际能力。使我收获颇多。是我人生中的一笔财富。

2、走进敬老院、为老人服务。当我得知要走进敬老院的时候我迫不及待的报名要参加，当我得知在郭店敬老院有一个来自异国他乡的老人与本地人无法交流时，更加激发了我要去敬老院的志向，为老人服务，使我了解到了老年人需要的是什么。

3、参加学院升本专家座谈培训班，参加这样的培训班是一件光荣而又艰巨的任务，参加这样的培训班使我不但了解到学院的基本概况，又使我了解到我们学校与其他本科院校相比的优点与缺点，学院升本，人人有责。每个人都应该参与进来。

三、完备和成熟的内部建设是社团发展的基础，是各项工作和活动运行的关键。

1、建立自己社团的规章制度并严格执行。完善评选优秀社员制度，严格执行优秀社员考核制度，并把社团干部考核制度作为自己的行为规范和工作标准，严格要求！

2、不断提高社员干部工作水平。随着各社团发展的规模不断扩大，要求更加严格，社团工作的难度也随之不断加大，社团干部队伍建设越来越重要。为此，我们根据需要定期召开会议，并适当地组织各种活动，使一批能力强的社团干部脱颖而出。增强社团干部对社团的归属感和荣誉感，进一步增强社团的凝聚力，推动社团工作更加健康地发展。

3、打造社团品牌活动。开展符合当代大学生口味、意义深刻、内容新颖的活动，努力创新校园的传统活动，将优秀经验、学院特色结合起来激发同学们的参与xxx,锻炼自己的各方面能力培养团队协作精神。

四、未来的规划与期望

在接下来，下半年的工作中，我们外语协会在举办好山东省驻济高校英文朗诵比赛和山东省（驻济高校）科技外语大赛的同时，我们有结合自身的实际情况，设计、策划了“SuperMan”的评选活动。力争使我们外语协会的工作在今后更上一个新台阶，以不辜负院团委老师及在座各位同学的厚爱与期望。
